Please note: I have noted several requests evidently for financial assistance for ministry in Bhutan. While it is important to extend our support to ministry in places like Bhutan, please make sure that you do not send assistance directly to individuals. No doubt, there are a number of honest and deeply committed people who want to minster in Bhutan. But one must also take note of the fact that there are more dishonest people in Christian ministry who are, in the words of apostle Paul: people whose “god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things” (Philippians 3:19). It is unfortunate that ministry today has become the easiest way to make money, which is amply demonstrated through the life of ministers, especially mission leaders. This is not to suggest that there are not committed and honest ministers. Having been in ministry for a fairly long period, I can testify from my own personal experience that there are certainly wonderful and deeply committed men and women who risk everything in life to serve the Lord. There are men and women who truly deny themselves, take up the cross, and follow Christ in the most difficult terrains of life. But their number is rather small. Therefore, anyone who wishes to make financial contribution to ministry in South Asian countries, should make sure that your support reaches the most deserving people. Never support individuals directly. Direct your support through credible mission organizations led by honest men. Unfortunately, most Christian leaders are not honest men. This is not just true about Bhutan, but also true about places like India, Sri Lanka, and other South Asian countries. Extend your support very prayerfully and with great care, and certainly demand accountability.
For the sake of the gospel,
Vargis Jos

I am about to finish my ThD, I have been praying for the country for about 15 years now. If there is any way I could be needed there, let me know, whoever. I heard there is need for theologians. I have been writing mt PhD thesis on holiness and purity in the NT, I speak 4 languages and know quite well all biblical languages and latin. Also, I come from a new age family with strong hinduistic mythology roots, then 15 years in charismatic church and now I am rather liberal, but still fighting for my faith by the mercy. Rather than taking some post-doc in the western world I would be interested in actually serving where needed and my heart has always been in Bhutan. I have no idea who reads this or if you know about anything, just saying...like a prayer, maybe someone needs to hear this. I dunno, here I am...

Last 2weeks ago I had a dream and in the dream, I got off at one airport and I did not know which airport it was. I checked my bag to see the airline tag and druke air was written there.Nxt morning I woke up and I remembered the name and I googled search if such an airline exits.Surprisingly, druke air exists and I saw the route it was asia.I have been praying and wondering why I dreamt that dream.Maybe one day I will ride on that plane but my destination I don't know. What strikes me, is Bhutan. It flys to bhutan as well.I am a christian and professionaly, I work as a trainee geology. I was wondering....am I going to study geology in bhutan or maybe do something else.I can't understand why druke air and bhutan keeps popping up my head.Since I am a christian I figured, let me read about christianity in bhutan and as I read, I realise maybe.....I have to mission to bhutan...spread the gospel.I am still praying about it.If it's God's will, I will come.I remember 3years ago a female chinese national came to my country to attend the Bible school here and she shared abit of happy she was to be able to praise and worship God freely because where she came from , they use to praise God from underground and being a christian was very risky.I was very challenged at her testimony. In my country church buildings are present in all villages and we have the freedom to praise and worship God.Everytime I shout in the church or sing I am reminded of what my chinese sister shared that in another part of the world they do not have that priviledge but thank God that He is present everywhere and we can feel His presence everywhere in the world.
Like I said if I am given the opportunity and If it is God's will, I will come to Bhutan for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ even though my life will be at risk.
To all those who are currently working for Christ in Bhutan, Ephesians 6:10 Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.

Good Friday, the Friday before Easter, the day on which Christians annually observe the commemoration of the Crucifixion, death and suffering of Jesus Christ. The event is observed 3 days before Easter Sunday. Good Friday and the Easter date solely depend on the ecclesiastical estimation of the March equinox. As such, Good Friday may be observed on any Friday from March 20th to April 23rd.

According to the Jewish calendar, Jesus died on 15 Nisan, the first day of Passover, which according to the Gregorian (Western) calendar would be April 7. Christians, however, do not commemorate this fixed date. Instead, they follow the apparently flexible date of the Jewish Passover—which conforms to the Jewish lunisolar calendar rather than the Gregorian solar calendar—by relating Jesus’ last supper with his disciples on the evening before his Crucifixion to the Passover seder. While this assumption is problematic, the dating of both Good Friday and Easter has proceeded on this basis. Thus, Good Friday falls between March 20, the first possible date for Passover, and April 23, with Easter falling two days later. This year, Good Friday 2014 will be celebrated on April 18th.

Philippians 2:12-14 -Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Like Paul, all of as christians, have a goal. A particular God given purpose, a destiny, only you and I can fulfil. But as we journey through life, we face a lot of distractions, burdens, discouragements and other pitfalls, that makes one to think is it worth running this race. My friends would know what I mean. Is this worth the while or should I just give up and live like everyone else. You will end up in heaven anyway.

I am sure when Paul was writing these verses, he must have recounted all the pain and trials he must have undergone for the sake of Christ and the gospel. Probably he would not have suffered so much had he still continued as a heretical Pharisee.

But Paul says, Forgetting those things which are behind. He forgets all his victories, all his glories and all is successes. All his credentials that he mentions in the previous verses. But that also includes all his failures, all his disappointments, all his trials and challenges, even his impending death by the Roman empire.

But he looks forward, focussed on his goal, the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. That's all it mattered to him.

At Virginia Beach, USA this morning, I was once again reminded of all the hindrances and difficulties that came in the lives of missionaries like William Carrey and Hutson Taylor as they toiled in the mission field. Yet they persevered. They reached their goal.

Like them, we too will face distractions, disappointments and failures. The question is; do I have the persistence to reach the goal. The Holy Spirit is willing to see me through but am I?

i am so pleased by the fact how God has been burdening his faithful servant all around the world to save Bhutanese people in Christ. Bhutan is no wonder a beautiful place with forest sprawling all around. We hardly get to see Christian tourists visiting Bhutan. I am Bhutanese myself and we need more people from out to come and do evangelism. Also to boost up the already saved servant of God.Its illegal to evangelize as per the constitution book of Bhutan cotes but we do have some effective pastors who can actually lay their support to get it done. I have seen faithful servant of God from west sometimes contacting the wrong person in Bhutan and get victimized financially who are usually online 24x7 leaving their contacts and infos almost in all social networking sites to blogs like this but I want to aware people from falling into the wrong hands. There wont be such a good thing to see than real people being contacted and people being saved. I am not a pastor but a faithful servant of God but being a Bhutanese, i do know some faithful key pastors inside who can help humble servants of God to actually work inside Bhutan. I own a tourism inside Bhutan so i can help people from out to get inside Bhutan doing all official formalities and let them meet the key pastors. God be with you all. davidsubbabhutan@gmail.com

it seems people with narrow minded thinks ministers dont hv to eat, wear, and educate their children , etc. no need home they can live in streets. in town areas no need to pay house rent people will provide freely every needs. ministers of God are not called for proverty but to serve. pls dont think today also God provides directly from heaven like mana for Isrealites. God provides His ministers using his sources since they are serving him, God did't gave Levites any land for they are to serve Him and God himself provides their needs. any ways criticism is must for ministers.
me too serving God after doing MDiv and i need financial help if anybody intersted pls humbly leave a reply. others dont be jealous.

"We never know how God will answer our prayers, but we can expect that He will get us involved in His plan for the answer. If we are true intercessors, we must be ready to take part in God's work on behalf of the people for whom we pray." - Corrie Ten Boom
